John represents law enforcement officers and public safety employees in a wide array of issues, including officer-involved shootings, custodial deaths, critical incidents, criminal investigations, internal investigations, disciplinary issues, promotional issues, accident review boards, grievances, labor issues, discrimination, retaliation, workers’ compensation, personal injuries, licensing issues, wills, and many other legal issues. John has also taught classes in officers’ rights and critical incident response, and his articles have been published in numerous police association magazines. Prior to representing law enforcement officers, John was a law enforcement officer himself for fifteen years. John received a Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas.
